What led you to teaching?
Quite a convoluted path! My working life began as an electrical engineer in the nuclear industry, however I knew that my real vocation lay in teaching. I always had a passion for teaching and through various opportunities found that I had a natural ability for connecting with and inspiring young people. Due to my own frustrations with education I wanted to empower young people to take ownership of their lives and realise their potential. Since then I have had a varied and substantial career, working in the state sector in both rural Scotland and inner-city London before moving into the independent sector
What inspires you and what you do?
To create a safe and stimulating environment that encourages awe, wonder and curiosity within children. I want our children to be inspired to discover their passions, explore their interests and develop a lifelong love of learning that unlocks their potential.
What do you love most about Skippers?
What struck me first about Skippers was how genuine everyone is in regards to their affection for Skippers and everyone in our community. The children bounce into school thriving on the vibrant culture and freedom we give them to explore who they are.
What is your proudest achievement?
It is an honour to be the Headmaster at Skippers and having the opportunity to work with a wonderful array of children and adults!
