What led you to teaching?
Brought up in France, I always enjoyed learning languages, probably because my eldest sister taught me my first 3 English words when I was 3 years old (rabbit, bee and umbrella). Old school friends told me that they remembered me telling them I wanted to be a teacher when I was about 13. Maths or science weren’t my thing then, and at the time I was dreaming of becoming an art teacher. But I visited England a number of times, staying with an English family in London over the summer and fell in love with London and everything British. So I went to University to study English and became a modern foreign languages teacher.

What inspires you and what you do?
What inspires me is seeing children grasp new concepts, to then use them independently, I also love it when they manage to explain to others what they have understood and help their classmates get the same understanding.

What do you love most about Skippers?
I am looking forward to getting to know the team, the children and their families as I settle into the close knit caring school that is Skippers Hill and I am already relishing the prospect of teaching in such beautiful surroundings.

What is your favourite book?
The book that impacted me most as a pre adolescent child was “The Mother” by Pearl S Buck. It transported me to pre-revolution rural China and moved me to tears.
