What led you to teaching?
I had wonderful teachers when I was at school. They always looked like they were having fun and planned lots of fun things to do in lessons. My gran was also a teacher and she would often tell me funny stories about the children in her class! They have all inspired me to go into teaching and I am so pleased they did. I went straight to University after finishing my A levels and never looked back!
What inspires you and what you do?
Creativity. If the children are having fun, they are learning! We can find out a lot about people if we allow them to be creative and let their interests and inspiration lead the way. Every child is different and has their own style of learning and I love learning from the children I teach. I love it when my classroom is full of excitement, chatter and engagement!
What do you love most about Skippers?
The lovely family feel. Everyone greets you with huge smiles and makes you feel at home right away! It feels like one big family and it is wonderful to see all the different age groups spending time together and helping one another along!
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love being outdoors! I have a horse who takes up a lot of my time. His name is Roo and his favourite snacks are gingerbread men. I enjoy riding him during the weekends and holidays. I also enjoy playing netball and spending time at the beach, paddle boarding and swimming in the sea (when it is not too cold!).
