What led you to teaching?
I have been teaching now for 26 years including having taught in Japan. When I was younger My year 6 primary school teacher was such an inspiration to me and ever since then I have wanted to replicate the impact he had on me.
What inspires you and what you do?
I love it when children have those ‘Eureka’ moments and their faces light up having realised they have succeeded and achieved something they thought they would not. The privileged position I have in teaching the future generations is something I will always cherish.
What do you love most about Skippers?
Skippers has a real buzz about it. It’s a place of passion and energy which picks you up and takes you on adventures of discovery. The enthusiasm of the children and staff is infectious and is already rubbing off on me.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
In my spare time I coach football in Eastbourne for my son’s team along with coaching him cricket too. I like to have adventurous holidays with my family, dote on my two ragdoll cats (Sugar and Spice) at home and appear on stage whether it be in a Shakespeare play or a musical.
