An abbreviation for Friends of Skippers Hill Association, FOSHA is a group of parents across each year group who volunteer to work together to organise a series of fun events and activities that take place throughout the academic year, for all pupils to enjoy.
Key events include the school’s well attended Christmas Fayre, Easter celebrations, the weekly Friday Café, Sports Day, as well as the school’s Fun Day. Whilst some of these events are for fundraising purposes, FOSHA funds are also contributed to by an optional parent subscription of £5 per child, per term.
All monies raised are spent on the pupils with the aim of enhancing their school life. The Committee’s biggest outgoing per year, is the school’s annual Fun Day which is held in the Summer Term.
FOSHA is a great way to meet parents from other year groups and to get more involved in your child’s life at the school. The bi-monthly meetings (more in the Autumn Term due to Christmas Fayre preparations) which are informal and fun, are held in the evenings, after school and working hours.
