Welcome from Mr. Hammond
Welcome to our website. Looking through, I am certain that you will get an initial sense of what Skippers is all about. We take great pride in our nurturing, family environment where every child belongs, each individual is cherished and where lifelong friendships are formed. The children are at the heart of the school and ensuring their happiness and safety is key: the high academic achievement, broad range of talents and impressive social confidence that pupils show year after year is embedded in that core ethos. The smiles speak for themselves!
We are blessed with a stunning rural setting which truly enables the all-round development of the children in our care: we give children the space to flourish in every sense and our bespoke programme of outdoor learning is interwoven throughout the curriculum for all ages. A strong team of specialist staff provides stimulation, structure and individual attention for children to achieve to the best of their abilities in all areas. Whether they thrive on academic challenge, feel the burning desire to perform, are bursting with the creative spirit or can’t wait to hit the sports field, the children are encouraged to make the most of every opportunity here. I truly believe that a childhood at Skippers is what a childhood should be…and my own children would testify to that!
Our strong academic results are proven, with children consistently performing above national and local averages at every stage of their education. For a mixed ability school we have an excellent reputation for gaining significant numbers of scholarships for entry to top senior schools at 13+ across a range of disciplines. The school has a strong, long-standing relationship with the senior schools in the area and Skippers pupils are highly sought-after for their sound academic grounding, strong sense of community spirit and overall zest for life.
We are a warm and welcoming community: do come and visit us to gain a deeper understanding of what a special place Skippers is. I look forward to introducing you to our school.
