Early years are mesmerised by Wishwork Pupeteers

Posted: 25th May 2018 | Category: Reception

Early years enjoyed a very exciting day on Tuesday.

A visit from Wishworks Puppets is always a treat, and an opportunity for a new cohort of smalls to be introduced to Andy, Sally, Charlie Fox and the other animals. The performance was engaging and great fun, and the children learned many facts about the wildlife that live around us in the grounds at Skippers.

The most popular fact was that rabbits eat their own poo - there was much hilarity in the room.

Best goalkeeper in the making was James in Reception, who caught a giant carrot fired from the stage by a naughty rabbit!

Prior to the performance Reception children were taught the art of sock puppet construction and were delighted to take their 'wildlife creations' home. We waved goodbye to a number of badgers, rabbits, foxes and mice that afternoon.

A huge 'thank you' to Wishworks from all of us in Early Years, and to the children for being such an appreciative and knowledgeable audience - as usual, we were very proud of you!
