What led you to teaching?
I have always wanted to be a teacher from a young age, I used to help my mum with her playgroup when I was a teenager, and I loved working there with the younger children. I travelled to The Gambia in my gap year, and worked in a school. That inspired me to support all children to gain an education that they deserve.
What inspires you and what you do?
I suppose my inspiration comes from the outcomes I achieve with my class – it is always a great feeling seeing them enjoying themselves when they are learning and really shining in areas they feel confident in.
What do you love most about Skippers?
I think what drew me to Skippers was it’s setting, and how all children are encouraged to learn, not just in the classroom but outside too. I love how, as teachers, we are able to facilitate learning anywhere.
Favourite childhood book?
I loved the Faraway tree by Enid Blyton. I really enjoyed the excitement of the children finding the tree and meeting all the different characters – it was a book brimming with imagination and exciting adventures!
