Zest for life at Skippers

Posted: 24th May 2018 | Category: Headmaster's Blog

As we head into the half-term holiday I am amazed at how quickly the time has passed since Easter. This is very much due to the fullness of school life at Skippers and the breadth of opportunity open to the children. The video in this week’s newsletter captures this beautifully and I am proud of each and every pupil, their high levels of engagement and general zest for life at school.

Our performing arts evening on Tuesday exemplified this so well - over 30 pupils from Years 3 and 4 taking part in dance, drama and song, showing flair and resilience in equal measure. Thank you to all the staff who make this possible.

Over the past three years, almost every aspect of school life has seen investment, new staffing and a host of initiatives: the school is in excellent health, pupil outcomes are stronger than ever and there is more on offer to children than ever before.

With the final full month of the academic year rapidly approaching (the busiest and best in my view!) I wish you all a restful and happy break … apart from Year 8, who of course, are reaching the high point of their studies and who will be beavering away at their revision: I hope you have some time to rest over the break, and your time in the sunshine (and snow) will come soon enough!

Mark Hammond.
