Years 7&8 reproduce Pop Art

The pupils in the Senior School have been studying the work of Pop Artists such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein.
We have looked at some of the iconic images they created in the 1960’s - bold colours, favoring the comic strip as an inspiration.
Lichtenstein produced hard-edged, precise compositions His work was heavily influenced by both popular advertising and the comic book style.
Warhol’s works explored the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture, and advertisement that flourished in the 1960s.
Choosing some of the most-recognised images of these artists, the children have recreated them. They will be on display around the school very soon.
