Year 7 develop personal interests as part of Challenge Award

Posted: 17th May 2017 | Category: Year 7

Now in the second stage of their Challenge Award, Year 7 were involved in the first part of the year with a community project, learning a new skill and an expedition to France.  Most recently, they spent their own time developing and sharing a personal interest; as always, I was impressed by their initiative and the diversity of their interests.  We heard presentations on topics from Bushcraft and Survival (Guthrie) to Animal Care (Matthew B) to Baking (Sarah) and lots more besides; I certainly learnt a lot through the presentations, not just about the skills but about the pupils themselves.  Pupils gained in confidence through presenting and talking about something they were passionate about and it was lovely to see other talents being recognised.  Sarah even brought in a sample of her latest baking efforts and I can confirm that her time was extremely well spent!
