Settling In
Posted: 5th October 2018 | Category: Headmaster's Blog
September has passed us by in a flurry of activity and it feels as if all of our new pupils, parents and staff have been here forever!
Skippers has always had great success in welcoming new members to our community - the warmth, openness and nurturing nature of the school embraces all who join and I am delighted with the smiling faces I see around the school - adults and children alike.
Every year we send out a survey to new parents: it is important to me that as a school we know that we do what we say we do. Consistently year after year we get the same feedback from new joiners: parents are overwhelmingly positive about their induction to the school, feel that their children settle very well and agree that the school’s ethos meets their expectations. I look forward to sending out our survey again this year in the next week or so and receiving feedback from this year’s new families.
Of course, none of this happens by accident and this week’s newsletter is replete with activities and events that help to accelerate a sense of friendship and community, as well as being great fun. There are no longer any ‘new’ pupils … just a bunch of lively Skipperoos!
