‘What Makes Me Special?’

Posted: 13th September 2013 | Category: Reception

As part of their Settling into School project, the children in Reception spent some time this week discussing what makes them special. One child said it was their “sparkly eyes” while another said it was “my family”.

They were each given a mirror and had to look at their faces and consider a number of similarities and differences. They were supported by a number of Year 8 pupils who volunteered to spent their break time helping the Reception children with their work.

Afterwards, the Reception children created paintings of their own faces which now form a colourful portrait display in the classroom.
