Positions of responsibility

Posted: 15th October 2014 | Category: Year 7, Year 8

In Year 7 and 8, students are encouraged to take on positions of responsibility within the school.
They also learn more about the democratic process by discussing the whole system of voting, secret ballots and elections.
Secret ballot voting was held amongst the more senior pupils and after some closely contested competition, the following students were voted into positions of responsibility:

House Captains:
Churchill: Sarah Shepherd/Max Lepere-Hunter.  Vice captains: Tali Cunningham/Elliott Glynn
Drake: Jamila Deen/Max Howard-Hall. Vice Captain: Toby Ford
Livingstone: Verity Mack/Sam Williams. Vice Captain:  Sam Anderson

School Council reps:
Year 8: Verity Mack/Sam Williams
Year 7: Monty Hadow/Ellen Duthie-Jackson

Charity Committee:
Year 8: Matt Good
Year 7: Alfie Holbrook

Eco –reps:
Year 8: Francesca Plaskett
Year 7: Monty Hadow

School Netball Captain: Verity Mack
School Hockey Captain (Girls): Sarah Shepherd

PREFECTS are decided on by all the teachers. Students who aspire to be prefects have to write a letter of application explaining why they feel they would be good at the job and the qualities they possess which would enable them to do the job effectively. Teachers have been closely monitoring the applicants over the course of the last few weeks and we are pleased to announce that Francesca Plaskett  and Verity Mack have been chosen as our first two prefects for the year.
