It’s all going on in the Kindergarten!

Posted: 16th May 2013 | Category: Kindergarten

Wow, another half term almost over and where has the time gone? We have been as busy as ever and the weather has been slightly kinder to us thank goodness. Our topics this term have very much come from stories that the children love. We have shared the story of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’, ‘Peter Rabbit’ and we are now on ‘The Hungry caterpillar’. Little Red Riding Hood, in particular, has been a huge hit and has led to wonderful role play activities, counting games and we have also made our Wendy House into our very own House for Grandma-complete with rocking chair.

We have also been lucky to have some of the Year 8 girls read some of their favourite stories to the Kindergarten children. This takes place on a regular basis and is a wonderful opportunity for the Kindergarten to feel comfortable and at ease with the older children and the rest of the school. The problem is that the Year 8’s don’t want to leave Kindergarten as they are having way too much fun!

Messy Monday and Fun Friday are proving to be a great success and have provided a great opportunity for parents/grandparents to come and meet the Kindergarten Team and enjoy our facilities. We have been painting, planting and storytelling. If you have a toddler or pre-school child do come along and see what all the fuss is about. For more information, click here.

Until next time………
