First blog of year!

Posted: 21st September 2015 | Category: Headmaster's Blog

Although this is my first blog of the year I will be brief as I have said far too much already at the Parent Information Evening and elsewhere in this newsletter!

I have been absolutely delighted with the positive, purposeful and smiling start that the staff and children have made to this new academic year. The photos in our newsletter are testament to that. Well done to the Under 13 boys who represented the school at our first tournament at Bede’s before term had even started and to their first victory of the season this week - all of the teams that played in this week’s foul conditions showed great resolve and team spirit.

My first two weeks in role have been diverse and stimulating: staff meetings, parents’ meetings, governance meetings; welcoming families at drop off, covering the bus run to Warbleton, Games coaching on the astro; reading stories to Years 1 and 2, interviewing teachers, fixing IT issues, Fire Drills, lunch duties! The breadth of opportunity we offer the pupils at Skippers extends to the headmaster too and the busy life of a Prep school with children from 2 to 13 is the best there is!

So now … off to put the final touches to our Year 7 and 8 overnight camping session and barbeque here in the grounds this Friday evening. Let’s hope the sunny weather holds!
