A Fantastic End to the Year

Posted: 6th July 2018 | Category: Headmaster's Blog

What a sweltering end to a fantastic year.

As I sit down to draft the final blog of 2017/18, my thoughts turn in one direction: the fantastic achievements of each of our Year 8 leavers. The headlines are thus:

In Common Entrance this year, they achieved 12 A*, 13 A, 39 B and 26 C grades - an incredible achievement and something the children and staff should be very proud of.

Once again our record in winning scholarships is outstanding for a non-selective school: from the thirteen pupils, they should be warmly congratulated on winning 2 academic scholarships, 3 sports scholarships and a music scholarship.

I am delighted to announce that the children will be moving on to a large variety of senior schools, which are as follows:

As always, they are well-prepared and ready to take that next step with a good academic grounding, self-confidence and an understanding of who they are as young adults. Well done indeed!

I am very much looking forward to seeing you all at Prize Giving tomorrow and celebrating the achievements of all our pupils over the course of this past year.

Best wishes,

Mark Hammond.
