Developing a Confident and Resilient Mindset

Welcome to 2019!

I am delighted with how engaged each individual child has been since returning to school after the Christmas break. As you will see from the newsletter, we have been focusing upon our own physical, emotional and psychological well-being this week; this has always been important and is a prominent theme in both education and wider society today.

Each child in the school has taken part in yoga sessions, smoothie making, eating a balanced and healthy diet and mental health workshops. At a time when Public Health England are advising parents to manage and monitor children’s screen time, our second Digital Detox is both important and timely. How many of you will take up the challenge and ban all screen time for 24 hours?

‘Focus weeks’ such as this, the breadth of the curriculum at Skippers, the attention we pay to the individual and the quality of the relationships between pupils and staff all underpin the development of a confident and resilient mindset that sets our children on a positive path for adolescence and beyond.  

Well done to all the children and staff for making it such a successful week and a positive, healthy start to 2019.
