Buzzing With Positivity

Posted: 21st September 2018 | Category: Headmaster's Blog

Welcome back to the new school year: I cannot believe that it has only been 13 school days since the end of the summer break! We have packed so much in already and the children are buzzing with positivity: plenty of smiles all round and all of our new joiners already feel like they have been here forever.

The senior pupils, in particular, have made a super start to the year and I have been hugely impressed with our new body of Year 8 leaders. The prefects have been impressively reliable on their morning duties (more or less!) and I look forward to seeing their commitment truly tested when the cold weather kicks in! Our house captains and other prefects have been very positive and I have been thrilled to see so many Year 8’s volunteering to help in the junior classes throughout the day: they have started the year with a fantastic mindset and are proving to be excellent role models as they start their final year at the school.

Parents and children consistently describe the school as warm and nurturing, like a big family: this has been highly visible among the children over the past few weeks and this strong sense of community across the ages, which is a strength of the school, is of mutual benefit to the oldest and youngest. Well done to all of our children for a great start to the year and in particular to Year 8 for setting such a positive tone among the pupil body!
