Breadth of opportunity at Skippers

Posted: 29th March 2018 | Category: Headmaster's Blog

Looking at this week’s newsletter, I am once again delighted with the breadth of opportunity available to each and every child at Skippers. I often show parents around the school who report that their children are spending the bulk of their final primary years focused on English and Maths in preparation for national assessment, at the expense of the wider curriculum. At Skippers, we are committed to ensuring that every child has access to the fullest range of learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom and there is no doubt that the children benefit hugely from this as they develop into well-rounded and confident individuals.

Many thanks to all in our community that make this possible: staff, parent volunteers, external coaches and teachers. I am sure that everyone will enjoy a well-earned break and return to Skippers for a busy and productive summer term, replete with some of the major events in the school calendar.

Happy holidays everyone…stay safe!

Mark Hammond.
