A Beautiful End to a Fantastic Year

Posted: 5th July 2019 | Category: Headmaster's Blog

What a beautiful end to a fantastic year! This week, in particular, has been a great pleasure: the best senior production ever, glorious house cricket in the summer sunshine, the Year 8 Leavers BBQ and pool party and a wonderful FOSHA Fun Day. Thank you again to the FOSHA team and volunteers for putting on a great day for the children. How lucky they are!

You will hear more than enough from me on Saturday and so the final word this year should go to our super Year 8 leavers. In Common Entrance this year, they achieved 12 A*, 34 A, 47 B and 52 C grades - an incredible achievement and something the children and staff should be very proud of.

Once again, our record in winning scholarships is outstanding for a non-selective school: overall, the pupils have won 2 dance, 2 drama, 4 sport, 1 Art and 5 academic scholarships!

I am delighted to announce that the children will be moving on to the following senior schools:

As always, they are well-prepared and ready to take that next step with a good academic grounding, self-confidence and an understanding of who they are as young adults. Well done indeed!

I am very much looking forward to seeing you all at Prize Giving tomorrow and celebrating the achievements of our pupils over the course of this past year.

Best wishes,

Mark Hammond
