Years 6 to 8 Entertain With an Evening of Music and Dance

It was lovely to have so many pupils in Years 6 to 8 volunteer to take part in an evening of music, dance and drama. There was so much talent on show, from seasoned performers to newcomers on the stage.

The dance students delighted us with both their ballet and contemporary dances. After a few short weeks, they have already mastered some lovely ensemble dancing. They have improved even more since we last saw them dance.

The music performers treated us to a continuous stream of talent. From singers, guitarists, flautists, clarinettists, saxophonists, drummers and pianists, there was a lot of talent on stage. Year 7T’s performance of Shine was extremely well received. A very well done to them all and their guest soloist - thank you Mr Tier!

Our Trinity drama students rose to the occasion with some delightful mimes and a selection of poems to commemorate the centenary of the end of World War I. Our LAMDA pupils entertained us with some delightful mono and duologues. Just three lessons into term, they memorised their words and showed us some impressive acting.

With a busy time in front of them (who mentioned Christmas in October?!) the Senior Choir have already performed twice this term. They sang a Harvest Tango for the Harvest Festival and last week, they performed Roller Ghoster; a nod to the funfares that spring up over Sussex in tandem with the local autumnal marches to commemorate the burning of Protestant martyrs in Lewes in 1556.

A huge thank you to all the performers and their teachers without whom the evening would not have been possible.
