Year 2 Challenge Their Tastebuds at Wagamama

Year 2 Challenge Their Tastebuds at Wagamama

Year 2 enjoyed an exciting trip to Wagamama to challenge their tastebuds and learn exactly what happens in the kitchen.

On arrival, the children were told a brief history of the company and were very amused that the word Wagamama means 'a naughty or willful child' in Japanese (not that Skippers have any of those!).

The children then were split into two groups. One group took turns to help weigh and prepare the food, whilst the other group were busy challenging their tastebuds by trying different types of pickles and noodles - which caused great amusement. The children were then able to help prepare freshly made juices which most of them thought were delicious.

Both groups were then wowed by the tall flames as the chefs demonstrated their cooking skills in the kitchen area.

Finally, the children sat down together at the tables and were served delicious bowls of freshly cooked Yaki Soba chicken.

The children all thoroughly enjoyed themselves and so did the staff. Thank you Wagamama Tunbridge Wells and particularly to Beth, the General Manager and her team, for making our trip so informative and keeping the children so happy and engaged.

Thanks too must go to Year 2 for being great ambassadors for Skippers, who Beth said were a credit to our school, and also to Zoe Davis for stepping in at the last minute to help.

You can see some photos of Year 2's trip to Wagamama in our photo gallery.
