Year Eight Common Entrance Goes on!

Year Eight Common Entrance Goes on!

I think we would all recognise and agree that the past few months have been difficult for children and families across the school but this is particularly true for our Year 8 cohort who are entering their final few weeks and months at Skippers. I have had the pleasure - and it is genuine - of helping them prepare for their History Common Entrance exam in a couple of weeks and it is remarkable to see their resilience, determination and good spirits. They have without fail continued to apply themselves fully, shown great independence and maturity and are well-prepared for their exams.

Although the arrangements for the examinations will be rather different this year, it is testament to the children’s character that they are determined to complete their two year programme of study and to give their best. All of the staff are incredibly proud of them and although it may be some time before they realise it, the skills, habits and work ethic that they have demonstrated at this difficult time will stand them in very good stead for the future

We will see them through, and then we will find a way to ensure that they have as much fun and celebration as possible afterwards!
