Year 8 try their hand at carpentry

Posted: 8th November 2017

As part of their enrichment programme Year 8 have all enjoyed woodwork classes run by Chris and  Mr O'Calaghan .

The challenge was to design and build a bird box from scratch. They were all given a piece of wood the same length to make it from. Using tools was new to some but they all mastered the skills and were able to cut and screw together their designs.

A quick painting session produced some fantastic results which can be seen in the Bird Box Village outside the gym!
