Year 7 engage with the community

Year 7 engage with the community

To round off Wellbeing Week, Year 7 ran a Community Afternoon Tea for the residents of Five Ashes and Mayfield. They baked homemade brownies and cakes, made and served tea and coffee and played host.

Mrs Hammond and I were incredibly proud of our mature and helpful pupils as they took on the challenge of serving and chatting to our local guests: not something that they are very used to, but an excellent skill to develop. We also enjoyed musical and dance performances from a number of pupils, whose confidence was visibly boosted by the achievement of performing as well as the enthusiastic reception from their audience.

All pupils were positive and engaged throughout the afternoon and we had many compliments from locals on their friendly confidence.

Well done, Year 7!

Emma Harvey
