Year 6 seek challenge in Swanage

There was a real buzz in Year 6 leading up to our trip to Dorset and we were not disappointed!

The weather was stunning, meaning we could really get the most out of the beautiful setting and great facilities. From artwork at the beach to team-building in the sports dome, from geography surveys in Swanage town centre to putting each other in the stocks at Corfe Castle, the children threw themselves into every challenge.

The week posed different sorts of challenges to each pupil: for some, being away from home was a big step; for others, the physical activity really pushed them; for one, eating her broccoli was the supreme test! All showed real resilience and adapted well to the different routine: there was a great feeling of team spirit and willingness to support each other, whether in kayaking, in completing work or with missing their families (or horses, in one case!).

It was a pleasure, as always, to see another side of our fabulous pupils outside the classroom, to see them being creative, helpful and independent and on several occasions, being complimented by members of the public.

Well done and thank you, Year 6!
