Year 6 come face to face with author, Harriet Goodwin
Posted: 18th June 2012 | Category: Year 6
In the lead up to World Book Day Year 6 visited a school in Crowborough to listen to a talk by author, Harriet Goodwin. She is one of the authors on their list for East Sussex Children's Book Awards.
Harriet spoke about her two books 'Gravenhunger' and ‘The Boy Who Fell Down Exit 43'. She talked to the children about how she writes, why she writes, where and when she writes. She invited lots of questions from the children.
She is also an opera singer and gave the pupils an example of her voice projection. Amazing!
When they returned to school the Year 6 pupils sent Harriet a message on her website, and they were delighted when she replied to it!
The children have really enjoyed the opportunity to hear an author talk about books that the children have been reading. It has been a great experience.
