Year 3 & 4 swimmers enjoy charity swimarathon
Posted: 23rd May 2014 | Category: Sports, Year 3, Year 4
On Tuesday 13th May, a team of eight children travelled to Cottesmore School to take part in a charity swimarathon, raising money for the Autistic Society.
Ollie, Guthrie and Jiya from Year 4 and Daisy, Elysia, Tiana, Michael and Alfie H from Year 3 made up the team and were determined to do the best they could. The challenge was to work as a relay team and swim as many lengths of a 25m pool as they possibly could in 15 minutes. We were competing against six other schools.
There was a real sense of competition and I was extremely proud of the way the Skippers children swam their hardest and supported each other throughout the whole event. The final result was 4th out of seven schools, with 35 lengths completed.
It was a pleasure to take this small group of children on such a worthwhile trip and I would like to thank them for their exemplary behaviour and positive attitude.
