Year 2 challenge their tastebuds on their trip to Wagamama

Year 2 challenge their tastebuds on their trip to Wagamama

As they set off in the new school minibus, Year 2 didn't realise what a wonderful time was in store for them!

On arrival the children were told a brief history of the company and were very amused that the word Wagamama means naughty or wilful child in Japanese (not that we have any of those in Year 2!)

The children were all given smart black aprons (which they were allowed to take home) then split in to two groups. One group took turns, helping to weigh and prepare the food, whilst the other were busy challenging their taste buds by trying different types of pickles and noodles which caused great amusement. They were then able to help prepare the freshly made juices which most of them thought were delicious.

Both groups were then wowed by demonstrations from the chefs cooking in the kitchen area.

Finally they sat down together at the tables and were served delicious bowls of freshly cooked Yaki Soba chicken - YUM YUM!

We even managed to persuade them to do a takeaway for Chris who had come to get us in the minibus!

The children all thoroughly enjoyed themselves and so did the staff. Thank you Wagamama Tunbridge Wells and particularly to Lenka, the General Manager and her team for making our trip so informative and keeping the children so happy and engaged.

Thanks too must go to Year 2 for being great ambassadors for Skippers. Lenka told us she had never had such a well behaved group of children and if she ever has children she would love to send them to Skippers!
