We Love our TAs!

We Love our TAs!

It was National Teaching Assistant Day last week and we all here at Skippers wanted to take a moment to appreciate the fantastic job done by our support staff. Whether it is offering support in the classroom, delivering focussed interventions or building positive and nurturing relationships with our pupils, we could not be prouder of the role that our teaching assistants play in the learning of every child at Skippers.

We wanted to show our appreciation from us all at Skippers so we treated our TA's to a break time cream tea in the rose garden and the pupils made a special appreciation video for them to watch. They had a fabulous break enjoying freshly baked scones, clotted cream and jam and a well earned cuppa! The sun was shining too making their day an even brighter one.

What the children say:

Our TA's are:

"Really helpful"  Harriet Jones
"Kind and smiley" Elena Principato
"Makes us feel happy" Tommy Sun
"Helps us understand something tricky" Firle Soma
"All TA's are sweet and gentle.. they are kind, polite and really good at helping us" Nancy & Natalie Nasseraldeen
"They are legendary! Even if they're busy they are always there for you!" - Erin White

Below are a few comments on what our fabulous TA's enjoy so much about working at Skippers:

Being a TA allows me to work with a wide range of pupils across the whole setting. No day is the same which makes the role both interesting and challenging. It is wonderful to see the children develop every day in their personal, social and academic lives and to be part of that journey with them is so rewarding.  Definitely the best job in the world!!!

Mrs Cooper

There is a great sense of purpose about being a TA at Skippers and appreciation of what we do. I love getting to know the children and helping them understand and enjoy their work. Their energy and enthusiasm is infectious!

Working in EYFS particularly, I enjoy seeing the children’s development from the very beginning of their learning journey. I greatly appreciate the position I am in to assist their natural curiosity and to develop their desire to learn about the world around them. Those ‘lightbulb’ moments when they recognize a simple string of sounds make a word when blended together, for example, and knowing that I supported them in achieving that outcome is so rewarding.

Miss Ruth

I love being a TA at Skippers, because I am lucky enough to watch and help the little ones learn and develop. Their personalities are infectious and their imaginations and energy make coming to work enjoyable.

Well done and a very big thank you to all our TA’s here at Skippers.
