Skippers Host Very Important People

Skippers Host Very Important People

At some point over each academic year, each child will say "I wish Mummy/Daddy could come to school with me!" Well, that day arrived this week. On the morning of Tuesday 2nd April 2019, there were some very excited children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 arriving into school with the prospect of their VIP event later that afternoon.

Everyone played their part in the preparations; teachers tidied their rooms and organised displays of work, Mrs Farman taught the children some uplifting Spring songs, Mrs Plummer and Mrs Hammond turned the dining room into a tea room with art facilities, Wendy and her team baked dozens of delicious scones and biscuits, and the VIP guests arrived with smiles and anticipation.

The children were wonderful as they always are, eager to show off their beautiful singing, their workbooks and artwork. They were happy to share their school experiences with those they love the best. One guest was overheard remarking that it was lovely to see what went on "behind the scenes".

The mark of a really good event is when the hosts enjoy the occasion as much as the guests. This was definitely the case with VIP Day. We loved having you, so thank you to all those Very Important People for coming to Skippers for the afternoon, and we hope to see you again soon!
