Unity is the Theme for Anti-Bullying Week

Unity is the Theme for Anti-Bullying Week

Anti-Bullying Week is being celebrated nationally from the 16th-20th November 2020. Skippers started the week off in style with Odd Socks Day, run by the Anti-Bullying Alliance. This year’s theme is ‘Unity’ and the week’s activities have been a huge success, and a real chance for the pupils to unite despite being separated across bubbles. The children wore odd socks to represent their differences, and the fact that they are all valued and respected here.

Other activities have included the creation of a Giant Skippers Jigsaw, in which every pupil plays a part. Sunshine Boards have appeared across the school and acts of kindness have been celebrated by children and adults alike. Kate Daniels also returned to run her Bullying Awareness workshops on-line, and the prefect team have been hard at work producing a video to reach out to their peers across the school.

The week has also been a chance to highlight how the children can access support in school if needed, particularly at this uncertain time. We do our best to make sure that the children know that they can approach any member of staff who will make time to listen to any worries or concerns.
