Skippers Goes Green in Mock Election

I am sure that we were all watching and listening diligently during the early hours of this morning to understand the results of the General Election and here at Skippers the children have been fully involved in election antics! A few weeks ago, our Year 8s formed groups to represent the main political parties and researched their manifestos. During assembly they pitched their policies to the school and then ran a poster campaign. This week they presented their final thoughts and we voted!

Turnout was excellent with 89% of those eligible casting their vote, (not sure what happened to the ‘missing in action’ class - possibly too stuffed after Christmas lunches!). With only 1 spoiled vote the results were as follows:

 Green Party - 53 votes (39.8%)

 Brexit Party - 31 votes (23.3%)

 Liberal Democrats - 27 votes (20.3%)

 Conservatives - 15 votes (11.2%)

 Labour - 6 votes (4.5%)

I wonder where that leaves us?
