Skippers Focus on Physical and Mental Well-being

As a fitting start to the new year, Skippers has been enjoying a Well-being Week this week, focusing on both physical and mental well-being. 

With so many pressures on young people, it is vital that pupils learn to switch off and relax, to take a moment to reflect and to appreciate the positives in their lives as well as coping better with the challenges that they face. It has long been recognised that pupils' emotional skills are key to success both during their education and in life beyond school and our Effective Learner profile focuses pupils throughout the year on skills such as resilience, positivity, and reflectiveness. 

To build on these skills, all pupils have been involved this week in events from art therapy, yoga and a range of workshops. The smoothie-making bicycle activity was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone! 

We do hope parents and families will be supportive of our digital detox, getting together with games, books and outdoor activities from Friday into Saturday morning; it can be a real eye-opener and a lot of fun!
