Reception Raise Money for Big Cat Sanctuary

This half term the Reception children have been learning about endangered animals. As part of this topic they have been raising money for The Big Cat Sanctuary in Kent.

After a lot of planning the class decided to have a cake sale and a 'Wear it Wild' day for the Skippers children and a raffle for the parents and staff. In preparation for these events, the children have been actively engaged in creating; posters, videos, art work and writing letters to drum up interest in their fundraising efforts.
On Friday 24th Janurary the children held the 'Wear it Wild' day and cake sale. They lined up eagerly behind the cake stall in anticipation for their first customers. The children were all very excited to sell their products and ensured that everyone paid for their cakes!

On Monday 3rd February we collected the raffle tickets and drew the winning number for the indulgent hamper.  The children were all very excited to find out that the winner was a Mummy from Reception, Hannah Roddis! We hope that she and her family enjoy the hamper.

On Friday 7th February the Reception children will be going to present the Big Cat Sanctuary with a cheque of the £422 they have raised to support their work.

We have all thoroughly enjoyed this topic and hope that this can instil in the children that the smallest of actions can support the preservation of our wildlife and environment.
