Reception Prepare for Easter!

Reception Prepare for Easter!

Reception has had a fantastic three weeks back at school, and have been busily learning all about the weather, shapes, length and time. But what they were most excited about was learning about Easter. We first discussed what Easter is and the time of year it occurs: Spring; learning that it is a celebration of life. We have planted sunflowers, sweet peas and herbs in our garden, and have even hatched tadpoles which we have named, popular choices being: Mr Makhouli, Rainbow, Rosie and Love!

We decided to make funky chickens and rabbits out of papier mache and were very resilient and determined to ensure our chickens and rabbits were very cool looking indeed - sunglasses and sparkly whiskers were added.

We even used carrots to help us write and spell our tricky words - as carrots are a very important writing tool!! Finally we practised our measurement skills, by completing a traditional easter game - rolling eggs down the hill and counted how many steps they rolled, in conclusion - very far indeed!

We have had such fun this term, and definitely deserve the holidays so we can come back fully rested for the summer term!
