Posted: 13th November 2012 | Category: EYFS
Reception have been learning about the people who help us at school.
They took a camera around the school and took photographs of some of the people who help and then described what each person does. For example:
Mr. Lewis:
"Mr. Lewis is in charge."
"He keeps us safe."
"Mr. Lewis helps everyone."
Mrs. Lewis:
"Mrs. Lewis helps everyone."
Miss Hemsley:
"Miss Hemsley is our teacher."
"She helps us to learn."
Annabelle, teaching assistant:
"Annabelle helps us to read."
"She helps the teachers."
Sue, teaching assistant:
"Sue helps Mrs. Mills and Miss Hemsley."
"Sue helps us to read."
Jackie, teaching assistant:
"She helps us in class with our reading and writing."
"Jackie helps us explore in the woods."
Peter, the caretaker:
"Peter fixes lots of things."
"He keeps us safe."
Kim and Caroline:
"Kim and Caroline work in the office."
"They use the telephone."
"They help with paperwork."
Wendy and Anne, our cooks:
"Wendy and Anne cook our lovely lunch."
The children interviewed Wendy and Anne about their work and had a go at holding one of the enormous cooking pots used to make their lunch every day. It was very heavy!
You can see the photos that the children took and their quotes on display in the Reception classroom.
