Reception Engage in Outdoor Learning

We love going outside in Reception, and with this late Summer sunshine we have definitely been making the most of it.

This week in Maths we have been learning to count and recognise numbers 1-10.  A number of our activities have been spent outside. The glee, pure joy and engagement on the children's faces when they are running around the beautiful grounds, trying to find hidden Numicon shapes, or, trying to collect a specific number of objects on their scavenger hunt, is truly wonderful.

Hearing the children giggle as they find a number or excitedly count the holes in a Numicon shape definitely demonstrates how much fun Maths can be.

And, the best part is, they probably have no idea that they are in a Maths lesson!
