Pupils collaborate to build city of Lego
Posted: 21st March 2014
On Friday 14th March, pupils across the school collaborated to build a whole city out of Lego.
The one-day workshop which took place in the school gym, saw pupils of all ages come together to build complex model buildings that lit up, as well as city infrastructure including a rail network with moving trains.
The event, which pupils at Skippers Hill have enjoyed for a number of years, is designed to encourage teamwork, logical thinking, creativity and practical design.
Kate Alexander, Head of English at Skippers commented: “This workshop is a wonderful opportunity for pupils to use material they usually consider for play, to help develop their architectural and design skills.”
“It brings children from different year groups together to work collaboratively in teams, encouraging them to communicate and get creative. The end result was extremely impressive and a lot of fun was had by all.”
