Pupils Proudly Present ‘MyDidThat’ Art Exhibition to Parents

Posted: 14th February 2014

Skippers Hill was buzzing earlier this week when it hosted an exhibition of artwork from each of its 130 pupils, from Kindergarten to Year 8.

The masterpieces, which were created by the use of different art techniques, were digitally mastered and professionally framed by Leeds based children art specialists ‘MyDidThat’.  All artwork was then put on display for one day only for all family and friends to see - with the opportunity of purchasing if they wish – to help to raise funds for the school’s outdoor learning initiatives.

Leading the way, with her eye-catching painting of a Salamander, was twelve year old Florence, who has just been awarded the Top Art Scholarship to Buckswood School in Hastings.

Skipper’s Head Teacher Tim Lewis comments: “I’ve been so impressed by the standard of artwork on display, with each and every piece being as individual and unique as the artist behind it.  Not only has it been a great initiative to teach the children about the different styles adopted by artists, but to be able to bring every piece together and showcase them in such a way is fantastic for the children to see.
