Over £800 Raised for ‘Dogs Helping Kids’

Last week, Skippers had a fantastic week raising money for the charity Dogs Helping Kids.

In order to help raise money, throughout the week, the children took part in lots of fun activities around school. Wendy baked some delicious labrador (shaped!) biscuits for Lottie's Breaktime Cafe, Year 2 took part in a sponsored dog walk, Lottie keyrings became the hottest trend of the season and the children all appreciated a non-uniform day.

The highlight, however, was definitely "Soaking The (brave, freezing cold, amazingly committed) Teachers" who all deserve a medal!

A huge thank you to everyone for joining in and helping to raise over £800 for the charity. This money will help to train more Educational Assistance dogs to work in schools and with individual children who need some extra support.

Here at Skippers, we benefit directly from the work that Dogs Helping Kids do, but Mrs Hammond has also had the opportunity to meet a variety of dogs and families from across the UK for whom this really has been life-changing and even life-saving. For more information, you can visit their website
