Maypole Dancers Delight Crowd at Mayfield Mayfair 2019

On Saturday, a fantastic team of Maypole Dancers delighted the crowds at Mayfield Mayfair with three traditional dances: The Plait, The Chrysanthemum and The Cobweb.

They have been practising hard since February and really did the whole school, their families and themselves very proud! Maypole dancing is believed to have originated in the Early Medieval period and is certainly an important tradition in our local community. It helps to develop concentration, teamwork, fitness and co-ordination, plus it's a lot of fun!

We were delighted to be involved in such a special afternoon to welcome in the Spring.

Looking out of the window at the beautiful sunshine, I believe the team definitely did a good job!
