La vie est belle a Skippers!
Posted: 28th March 2018

We all had a wonderful French Day on Friday. We started with a hilarious French sketch in assembly from Year 8, with a memorable Princess Matthew making quite an impression. Year 5 performed the 'Bear Hunt' (La Chasse a L'Ours) for Kindergarten to Year 2, whilst Year 6 reinvented their French cafe 'Skippuccino' for pupils to enjoy some patisserie at break and Wendy and Hazel provided a beautiful French meal for lunch which was much enjoyed by all the pupils and requested as a regular meal in future.
The highlight of the day for pupils in Years 3 to 7 was a French play, 'Le Chateau', by Onatti theatre company. They put on an extremely entertaining and engaging performance with pupils getting up on stage and showing off their French, as well as clearly finding the whole performance thoroughly entertaining. We will certainly be hoping to ask them back in the future.
Thank you to everybody who put in the effort with their red, white and blue outfits, to Madame Churnside who came to lend her support as a native speaker and to all the pupils for their fabulous French throughout the day.
