KG Parents Enjoy Stay and Play

Successful teaching and learning depends upon a strong partnership between parents and teachers. This is especially true for our youngest pupils in Kindergarten, as they take their first steps towards independence.

The past year has been difficult for parents of Early Years children, with very few opportunities for socialising with other families outside their ‘bubble’. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have been able to remain open for work and play, but we have missed having our parents on site and in the classroom.

This week, at long last, we were able to welcome our Kindergarten parents into school for ‘stay and play’ sessions. It was an absolute joy to see our excited smalls showing off their classrooms, their artwork, and their favourite activities to their parents. We had Dads in the sandpit, Mummies on scooters, parents reading stories and playing hide and seek.

Our lovely Mrs Plummer was on hand with coffee and cake, and we were joined by Mr Makhouli, who is a very familiar figure in Kindergarten.

I’d like to thank all those parents who were able to come along; we so enjoyed seeing you having fun with the smalls.

Dare I say it - life is beginning to feel ‘normal’ again! We hope to see you all again for our next Stay and Play, which we hope to organise later in the term.

With warmest wishes

Miss Sue, Miss Ruth, Miss Libby and Mrs Pinny.
