Juniors Get in the Olympic Spirit With Gold Medals, Olympic Torch & Guest
Posted: 6th July 2012 | Category: Sports, Years 1 & 2
The children in Juniors were very excited recently when real-life Olympic champion, Jayne Torvill, visited them in the lead up to their Olympic-themed Sports Day.
The children all huddled around as Jayne showed them the Olympic torch that she would be carrying and skating with in Nottingham later in the month. The children were delighted to be able to hold the torch. She also let the children try on the Olympic Gold medal that she had won for her skating in 1984. It was a very special day!
At the end of their sports day, Jayne gave out the medals to the Junior children.
