Jersey Tour Quiz Night

Posted: 2nd March 2012

On Friday 27th January, about 75 eager participants gathered together in the Gym for the annual Jersey Tour Quiz Night. The eleven assembled teams began pitting their brains against each other with a picture round to identify shots from Sit Coms and Films. This was followed by some taxing questions on 2011 News, Cocktails and Food, Geography, History, Sport and Literature. As the answers were given, resounding cries of “I told you that was the answer!” or “Oh, of course I knew that!” were heard coming from the various tables.

At half time, energy levels were replenished with a delicious chilli cooked by the teachers (with a lot of help from Ann and Wendy in the Kitchen) and appetising desserts provided by parents.

Annabelle Bellingham’s team “Lowe and Behold”  aka “A local pub quiz team!!” were the outright winners of the coveted cup, closely followed by the Headmaster’s team “Keeping a low profile” (not that closely actually) who came from behind but kept too low a profile in the early rounds.

Will the winners of The Wooden Spoon – no names mentioned – please retrieve their abandoned prize from me, as leaving it behind was extremely unsporting!

A huge thank you to the Quizmasters, Paul Mack and Chris Arnold, ably assisted by Jeremy  Pitts. Thank you also to Adele Hadow for organizing the raffle, and all the parents who contributed desserts and prizes… and last, but certainly not least, to Nicole Arnold for the tremendous amount of time and effort she put in to make the event a resounding success.
