Inter House Sports

Posted: 10th March 2015 | Category: Sports, Year 5, Year 6, Year 7, Year 8

A verdant Mr Toad, some purple creatures and the orange features of a feline were some of the faces hastily wiped clean during lunch break last Friday in exchange for some war paint in the Skippers Hill  house colours! The 'World Book Day' characters had become the sporting team players for our three houses Drake, Churchill and Livingstone. Under some beautiful early spring sunshine our fantastic new 'astro' easily swallowed up the girls and boys of Years 5 to 8 in a series of house Hockey and Netball matches with some extra games of 'Capture the Flag', 'Angel's Child' and 'Bulldog' thrown in for good measure. Everyone had a chance to play for their house team at some point in either Hockey or Netball  The boys had a chance to try their hand at Netball shooting skills in 'Angel's Child' and all had the chance to race across the astro clutching a stolen Rugby ball for their team whilst trying to avoid being put in the jail during 'Capture the Flag'.

At the end of a tiring couple of hours and indeed an action packed day, it was Livingstone who managed a 5-2 win after a tough match against Churchill in the Netball and Churchill who secured a house victory in the Hockey in a close run contest. Most importantly all games were played as requested with an air of team spirit, good sportsmanship and fun! Well done to all involved.
