Healthier, happier pupils after Wellbeing Week

Our Health and Wellbeing Week 2018 was amazing!

At Skippers, we understand the need for everyone in our school to lead healthy lifestyles. We are committed to the health and wellbeing of our children and staff and we know it helps them to do their best and build upon their achievements.

We actively promote physical and emotional health and equip our pupils with the understanding and skills they need to make informed decisions about their health, both now and in the future.

By championing healthy eating, healthy lifestyles and emotional health and wellbeing, we want to continue to raise standards and improve levels of pupil achievement.

Our Wellbeing Week which took place earlier this month, was a great success and encouraged pupils, staff and parents to think about their health and wellbeing, as well as offering lots of information about keeping our bodies fit for learning. We also learnt the importance of looking after others.

We were delighted to welcome back guest speaker Kate Daniels to deliver age-specific workshops, which pupils thoroughly enjoyed. Years 1 and 2 looked at healthy lifestyles and created amazing animals from fruits and vegetables, Years 3 and 4 focused on self-awareness and social fitness, Year 5 focused on self-esteem, Year 6 looked at cyber safety and keeping safe online, and Years 7 and 8 focused on the use of social media and its impact, as well as stress management.

Alongside these themed session, we enjoyed art therapy, massage, fitness testing and a digital detox, which all proved to be very successful.

Well done, everyone.
