Girls Enjoy Taking Ownership of Their Learning in Sport!

“What went well, why and what could we do better and how?” It has been so rewarding to see the sense of engagement and enthusiasm ramp up pace as this term has progressed, following our somewhat unusual five month break from learning team sports which hold such huge value  in the way they develop skills by working together. The opening questions in this write up are just a small sample of how the children are encouraged in games lessons to think for themselves and come up with suggestions and answers in order to analyse how skills and tactics can work to the best effect in a game.  This term the girls have been focusing on both hockey and netball amongst other activities and their verbal responses and resulting action have shown thought, interest and a genuine desire to improve, which indeed they have!
